Raised in South Florida, I grew up immersed in a culturally diverse community that shaped my deep appreciation for people’s unique stories and struggles. After high school, I joined the military and served as a medic in hospitals across the country. There, I witnessed firsthand the effects of trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Many of the individuals I encountered simply needed someone to truly listen. These early experiences sparked an interest in mental health that gradually evolved into a lifelong calling. Following my military service, I dedicated 25 years to public service, focusing on supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. Many of them faced significant mental health challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use. My work often centered on crisis intervention and preserving the dignity and safety of those in need. Today, I bring that same commitment and compassion into my clinical work. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients understand how thoughts and emotions influence behavior. I also draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to teach mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation. These evidence-based approaches help people build routines, shift harmful patterns, and ultimately experience meaningful growth—much like a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. I love what I do, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative journey. I offer empathy, authenticity, experience, and a safe space where your voice matters. When we meet, you become my focus. My goal is to help you feel confident, reassured, and empowered as we navigate life’s challenges together. In my free time, I practice what I encourage others to do: follow a healthy routine, engage with the present moment, and connect spiritually through prayer and mindfulness. I enjoy nature and fishing (even if I don’t catch much), spending time with my family and our Yorkie, Sasha, and staying active through biking, walking, and soccer. I’m also passionate about the arts and give back through volunteer work at my church—because serving others is at the heart of who I am.
