Introduction

At some point many people begin to feel stuck. Sometimes the problem is clear. Other times there is only a quiet sense that something in life is not working the way it should. Over time this can narrow the way life feels. Often people have already tried very hard to fix things. They analyze the problem, push themselves to change, or try to control their thoughts and emotions more tightly. Sometimes that effort helps. Often it only creates more pressure. Therapy offers a place to slow down and look more carefully at what is actually happening beneath the surface of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. When there is space to look honestly at your experience, things that once felt confusing or overwhelming often begin to make more sense. Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. Real change rarely comes from forcing yourself to be different. More often it begins when we start to see clearly how the mind works, what we may be protecting ourselves from, and what we truly need. Many of the patterns that trouble us operate automatically. The mind reacts quickly and repeats familiar responses even when they are no longer helpful. Over time those patterns can begin to feel fixed or difficult to interrupt. Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone. In therapy we explore these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment. As understanding grows, the mind often becomes less tangled in them and a clearer perspective begins to emerge. Life can never be perfectly controlled. Uncertainty, loss, and unexpected change are part of being human. Relax. Nothing is under control. When we learn to relate to that reality with greater steadiness and flexibility, it no longer needs to dominate our inner life. Letting go of the constant effort to control everything can create a surprising amount of freedom. My approach to psychotherapy is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in careful listening. Each person’s story is different, and meaningful therapy respects that. Rather than applying a rigid method, we work together to understand the patterns and experiences shaping your life. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with nearly two decades of clinical experience in private practice, outpatient care, community programs, and interdisciplinary clinical teams. In addition to clinical work I have held supervisory and leadership roles supporting clinicians and programs in developing thoughtful and ethical practice. Over time many people find that therapy helps them feel clearer, steadier, and more able to meet life as it unfolds. Not by forcing change, but by understanding themselves more deeply. If you are interested in working together you are welcome to reach out for an initial conversation. A brief consultation can help us see whether this feels like the right fit. I offer telehealth sessions on Saturday mornings. FEES My practice is primarily private pay. Initial session, 60 minutes: $260 Standard session, 45 minutes: $220 Extended session, 60 minutes: $260 I am in network with BlueCross BlueShield and can provide documentation for out of network reimbursement with other plans. A limited number of reduced fee spaces are reserved for people who may benefit from this work but for whom the full fee would be difficult.
