Introduction

Our mission is to provide trauma-informed, compassionate care in an safe, inclusive space that promotes healing, resilience, and hope. Miri Himes is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and New Mexico. She is also a Registered Telehealth Provider in Florida. Miri has over 25 years of experience in the behavioral health field. Throughout her extensive career, she has provided counseling and behavioral health services in a wide range of settings, including community mental health centers, psychiatric facilities, hospitals, educational settings, residential facilities, and private practice. Miri works with clients to overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, work/life stressors, relationships, insomnia, and addiction. Miri is committed to creating a safe, inclusive healing environment where clients are empowered to explore their inner strengths to overcome life's challenges. Her counseling style is warm, authentic, and grounded, with a directness that fosters trust, growth, and resilience. Miri specializes in working with members of the military community and first responders. As a Veteran herself, she holds a deep commitment to serving the military community. Her first introduction to military life came as a spouse, and she later went on to serve in the Air Force, Army National Guard, and Texas State Guard. These experiences have given her unique insight into the military culture and a solid understanding of the challenges service members and Veterans face when addressing their behavioral health needs. We honor diversity and are committed to inclusive, affirming practices that respect all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. Our aim is to create a safe and welcoming environment where every individual feels valued, supported, and genuinely heard.
