Introduction

Miryam is a calming, curious, and compassionate clinician whose mental health care centers on the inherent dignity and worth of all beings. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Iowa, having earned her Master in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2016 and Bachelors degrees in Theatre and French from St. Michael's College. Miryam grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, has lived in Vermont, Paris, Florida, and Chicago, and has made her home in the Quad Cities since 2013. She has worked with children and families for over 20 years, including as a clinician, mental health consultant, swim teacher, nanny, camp counselor, drama coach, domestic violence advocate, houseless youth counselor, family support worker, and language instructor. Miryam works exclusively with young clients ages 0 to 10 alongside their caregivers. Miryam's goal in the therapy space is to show up for you as the caregiver in ways that empower and inspire you to show up for yourself and your loved ones. She is deeply invested in honoring your story, supporting you to make meaning of your experiences and to claim your power to co-create your present and future. She involves children through play therapy techniques, using toys, games, art, music, and movement, as well as mindfulness-based stress reduction, according to child and family goals and interests.
