Balancing who you are with who you are expected to be can create constant inner tension, whether it’s pressure from family, cultural values, or even the roles you’ve taken on. It’s easy to lose sight of your needs and identity, especially when you’re feeling torn between guilt and a desire for something more. In our work together, we’ll explore these conflicts, challenge what no longer serves you, and empower you to show up in the world as your unapologetic self. I help individuals from multicultural backgrounds, many of whom navigate the complexities of identity, belonging, and expectation. My clients are high-achieving professionals, college students, couples, and LGBTQ+ individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, OCD, or PTSD, often in environments that don’t fully reflect nor understand their lived experiences. As a South Asian woman and daughter of immigrants, I understand what it’s like to live between cultures. Therapy with me is values-driven and culturally affirming- all parts of your identity are seen and welcomed. We’ll focus on using practical tools and gaining meaningful insights using mindfulness and psychodynamic therapy, as well as evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through our work together, you’ll learn to recognize unhelpful thought patterns, set healthier boundaries, and feel at home in the multiple worlds you navigate.
