Introduction

You feel trapped in relentless “What if?” loops that pull at your sense of self. Every thought about your relationships, identity, or values can feel urgent, heavy, and impossible to ignore. What if your intrusive thoughts don’t mean what OCD says they do? Whether you’re polyamorous, kinky, queer, transgender, or neurodivergent, you deserve support that sees, understands, and affirms all parts of you. That's where I come in— I'm Mx. Lauren Johnson (he/him/his). As a non-monogamous, LGBTQIA+, Autistic, ADHD’er with lived experience of OCD, I’m passionate about providing affirming OCD therapy that honors your unique identities and neurotype. Based on colonized land in Lynchburg, VA, I work with adults and teens (16+) via telehealth across Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, and Vermont. I specialize in “Pure O” OCD and mental compulsions, including themes such as relationship OCD (ROCD), harm OCD, sexual orientation OCD, gender identity OCD, scrupulosity/moral OCD, and meta-OCD. My approach integrates Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Together, we’ll explore how OCD pulls you into imagined possibilities and practice responding based on what’s actually real and relevant— so you can rebuild self-trust, gain clarity, and move forward with more ease. You don’t have to stay stuck in doubt. Take the first step toward clarity and self-trust today— book your free 15-minute video consultation (camera optional). Are you ready to see what's possible for you?
