They are a Certified Geek Therapist. They are CAMS trained and an EMDR approved consultant. They are a Certified Neurodiversity Specialist. They have dual Master’s Degrees in Criminal Justice and Legal Administration and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. They started in the helping field in 2001 in victim’s advocacy services working with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survivors. Having a traumatic upbringing exposed to domestic violence, criminal behaviors and substance abuse, they gravitated to ways to understand the impact these dynamics had on their own mental health and how to support others recovering from trauma. They have worked in chemical dependency detox, medically assisted treatment centers, partial hospitalization treatment centers, intensive outpatient, and outpatient recovery services. They are a geeky, AuDHD, queer, Indigenous/Latinx and two spirit. The experiences throughout their life as a neuroqueer person of color have helped them to embrace who they are in their adulthood and hold space for others as the adult they often needed in their youth. Steph lives in Fort Collins with their spouse, Australian Shepard Mix and future Therapy Dog Sabine, Therapy Dog beagle mix, Ezra, bearded dragons Willow and Oz, and snakes Hannibal and Abra. They enjoy time with family and friends, cosplaying, and networking with like minded humans in the local geek and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. They will be begin offering KAP treatment to existing clients in Early 2027.
