Introduction

My first day in graduate school was on 9-11-2001.The classroom was dimly lit and cold, setting the stage for the discussion that night. Surreal! Our world was changed for eternity. That was 25-years ago. As tension rises all around us, emotional contagion is active. Increased generalized and social anxiety, depression, and increased alcohol intake impacts the entire family. Over the past 25 years I gained experience working with clients experiencing trauma, depression, suicidal thoughts, and some with existential struggles eg., what is my purpose, am I right in thinking this way? Throughout the past 22-years working with a variety of clients I see my clients as inherently good people weighed down by experiences in their lives. Worry and stress is a component in most medical issue. I am a client centered therapist and through all the difficulties in my clients' life I work to discover the healthiest, most alive part of each client. Clients are not their diagnoses. Instead a diagnosis is a conduit to experiencing yourself as an empowered healthier being. At the end if September, we will being three groups for older adults 45-99 years old. See below for more information. PSYCHOTHERAPY GROUP TOPICS 1. Middle aged and older adults in changing world. One group in the series will focus on memory loss. 2. Aliens in our midst.
