Introduction

I’m Nakei Powell (pronounced Na-Key), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified Supervisor, and the “Unconventional Therapist.” I provide telehealth counseling to adults and couples throughout Florida who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My style is warm, direct, down-to-earth, and interactive. Therapy with me is not about sitting quietly while you do all the talking. I listen closely, ask meaningful questions, offer practical tools, and gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change without fear of judgment. Using CBT, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and trauma-informed approaches, I tailor each session to your individual needs. Together, we can explore the experiences affecting you today, strengthen your coping skills, improve communication, establish healthier boundaries, and develop realistic strategies you can use beyond the therapy session. You do not have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. You only need a willingness to take the first step. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself or others, or simply ready for something in your life to change, support is available. If you are ready for real conversations and meaningful change, click below to get started. I look forward to connecting with you.
