None of us are immune to pain in life. We all have difficult thoughts, feelings, experiences, and relationships. Sometimes we get stuck in these difficulties. Maybe life circumstances have left us depleted from prolonged stress, maybe we unconsciously picked up harmful beliefs about ourselves, maybe we were never taught helpful coping strategies or relationship skills, or maybe we’ve been hurt by others. While we might get stuck, we don’t have to stay that way. Working with a therapist can be an incredible and powerful experience that helps you get unstuck so you can create the life and relationships you’re seeking. As a therapist, I help people become more mindful of themselves: their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, coping strategies, attachment needs, and relationship patterns. Once that happens, we can work together towards changes that will bring more peace and happiness. It is emotional and sometimes challenging work, but it is deeply rewarding and worth the effort. My systemic training is an asset for working with couples and families, but I also enjoy working with individual children and adults. I value authenticity, directness, and humor in the therapy room. I’m deeply compassionate but have your long-term interests at heart, so I will push and encourage your growth even if it feels uncomfortable.
