Introduction

Hello, Prior to becoming an MFT, I was helping people prepare for and respond to disasters for over 20 years in paid and volunteer roles with the American Red Cross, running programs at various non-profits, and participating in the alternative education/ homeschool community. One of my volunteer positions was in a Domestic Violence Resource Center where I became more interested in the systemic roots of trauma and how to work with individuals to address problems and not just symptoms. I went back to school to get my Master's Degree and the long journey of licensure. It was well worth it as I continue to learn so much from this field and the clients I work with. As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor in private practice, my specialties include working with families and individuals exploring the impact of individual and generational trauma through systems-based, somatic, mindfulness, eco-psychotherapy, and attachment-based lenses. In addition to private practice, I'm the current Executive Director of The Place Within- Southern California, a non-profit community mental health center in Monrovia, CA. I'm also a Certified Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator and co-host a passion-project podcast Ponder While We Wander. It is likely that if you cross paths with me outside of the office, it may be in a local garden or bookstore, generally walking about, or around a campfire. Feel free to connect with me on Instagram @natashamft_ or visit me virtually at www.MindfulMFT.com https://ponderwhilewewander.com/podcast-info/
