I started Bright Day Counseling to provide assistance across North Carolina to those experiencing anxiety, depression, and issues related to trauma and addiction. I started my path through Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN. During my time there, I was able to work as a graduate assistant alongside the counseling community for events, activities, and research with professors and other students. I was also able to work in community settings such as a community health clinic, medication assisted treatment, and even intensive in-home treatment. I returned to my home of North Carolina and worked with the Children's Advocacy Centers across the state to address trauma and other concerns with children and their families as they face difficult and uncertain times. I have practiced many treatment models over the years, though primarily I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which are all specifically designed to help you rewire your brain to work for you and not feel like you are controlled by thoughts, feelings, and other triggers in your environment. I continue to pull in techniques from other treatment models so that I can effectively work with you to manage your challenges and find the path to overcome them. Together, we can work as a team to manage the difficulties you face and find a bright new day and outlook ahead of you.
