I am a board-certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who works with teens and adults (16+) experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar spectrum conditions, and other challenges affecting daily functioning. My background includes years of inpatient psychiatry, ICU, and emergency medicine, which allows me to bring both medical depth and calm clinical judgment to mental health care. I believe strongly in inclusivity and providing a space where every client can feel understood, respected, and empowered. My style is collaborative, direct when needed, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I want clients to feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions, and taking an active role in their treatment. My approach centers on partnership. Clients guide the direction of care by identifying their goals, and I use a combination of medication management, cognitive behavioral strategies, and acceptance-based approaches to help them move toward those goals. I emphasize clarity, shared decision-making, and practical steps that fit a client’s real life. I believe mental health care works best when clients feel ownership over their progress and when the provider offers structure, education, and support rooted in evidence-based guidelines. The first session is thorough but conversational. I take time to learn your story, review your medical history, and understand your current concerns. We’ll go over past and current medications—what worked, what didn’t, and what side effects you’ve experienced—so we can make informed decisions moving forward. I’ll also explore your goals, daily functioning, and what “feeling better” would realistically look like for you. Therapy options can be discussed, but our primary focus will be developing a clear, evidence-based medication plan tailored to your needs. By the end of the first visit, clients can expect clarity, direction, and a treatment path that makes sense.
