Hi, I’m Nia Povroznik, LCSW. I spent the last six years in community mental health, working alongside folks navigating incarceration and reentry. I helped people reconnect with family, find housing, access mental health care, and build the skills to move toward stable, meaningful lives. That work shaped me deeply and cemented my belief in social justice, including a real commitment to protecting and uplifting Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. These days, my private practice is a space especially for queer and transgender folks, including those navigating transition-related concerns, people who are polyamorous or kinky or exploring relationship styles outside the mainstream, neurodivergent folks, sex workers, and people navigating personality disorders or schizophrenia spectrum experiences. I also continue to support people who’ve experienced incarceration themselves, those whose loved ones are currently incarcerated or navigating parole or probation, and folks affected by the generational trauma that so often comes with having family members caught up in the system. Wherever you land, I want you to feel like you don’t have to shrink or explain yourself to be understood here.
