Introduction

About Me: Hi, I’m Niara “Nia” Dahn, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and a graduate of Georgia State University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, supported enough to explore what you’re experiencing, and empowered to create meaningful change. I work with individuals, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds and have experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other concerns. My clinical experience at the Emory Autism Center has shaped my commitment to providing neuro-affirming, sensory-friendly, and compassionate care, particularly for individuals who may have felt misunderstood or overlooked in traditional spaces. My Approach: I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with you to understand your experiences, identify your goals, and develop strategies that fit who you are. My approach integrates person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and creative and expressive interventions. I also believe therapy doesn't always have to look like simply sitting and talking. My creative background allows me to incorporate innovative and expressive techniques when helpful, offering you different ways to explore emotions, process experiences, and develop new perspectives. What You Can Expect: My goal is to create a compassionate, judgment-free environment where you feel seen, heard, and respected. I strive to meet you where you are while honoring your culture, identity, values, and individual needs. As a first-generation American, I understand that our backgrounds and lived experiences can shape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am especially passionate about supporting and advocating for individuals with disabilities and neurodivergent clients. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin wherever you are and work together toward greater understanding, confidence, and sustainable change. If you're ready to take the next step, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
