Dr. Reeves is a psychiatrist practicing in Mill Valley (in person) and the San Francisco Bay Area (virtual/online). He is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons (NBPAS). He attended Medical School at Washington University in St. Louis (2006-2010), then did his Psychiatry Residency at UCLA Medical Center/Semel Neuropsychiatric Institute (2010-2014), after which he completed his training at the UCSF Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program (2014-2015). His practice integrates expert psychopharmacology (he was the resident at UCLA who other residents approached with obscure psychopharmacology questions), neuromodulation technologies (e.g. rTMS, tDCS, eCOT-AS, and tVNS), and psychotherapy. His approach to psychotherapy is built on a Buddhist Psychology foundation, which combines seamlessly with the Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Reappraisal, and Psychological Flexibility Skills Training methods he learned from the traditions of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Drawing on the depth tradition of Carl Jung, he holds the therapeutic encounter as a meeting place of science and the inner journey, and uses Jungian psychoanalytic methods of dream interpretation, psychedelic experience integration therapy, art therapy, and Shadow work when and where it seems appropriate and useful to do so.
