I fundamentally believe we are all human and thus all experience difficult emotions like sadness, anxiety, and anger throughout life. Given the universality of these experiences, I think of therapy as a space where I help clients learn to acknowledge and work with these difficult aspects of themselves, as opposed to learning how to silence or eliminate them. I enjoy building intimate connections with people in therapy, which ultimately allows clients to unburden themselves and share things they don’t discuss in other relationships. I also enjoy helping clients learn about themselves, often developing greater self-compassion along the way. And most importantly, I deeply enjoy witnessing clients use our work to take brave and meaningful steps towards more fulfilling lives. I view the therapy process as a collaborative space wherein myself and the client clarify their goals, uncover thought and behavior patterns that keep them stuck, and develop new responses and routines that improve their quality of life. To me, the key ingredients to good therapy include the client feeling truly cared for by the therapist and the client being willing to experience emotional vulnerability in the service of change. If you choose to work with me, you can expect me to be a warm, non-judgmental presence who works with you to build insight and learn skills to better your life. I specialize in treating professional or busy, high-achieving results and I have extensive experience in using evidence-based practices to treat anxiety (e.g., overthinking, perfectionism, panic), trauma, relationship difficulties, OCD, and depression.
