Introduction

Here you are. You have survived. Barely survived. You are getting by. But certainly not thriving. “Busy…” is your response to the “how are you question?” Because how would you even answer that? Your smile tops the pain you feel inside. Thought spirals take your time and your peace. And you are afraid. Your heart races. You have difficulty focusing. You startle easily. You hardly sleep. You snap at others or lash out without thinking. You keep being reminded of what has happened or fixated on what could happen. You ask, "Why God?” and doubt. Slowing down feels like it would drown you. You check out, scroll for hours, escape any way possible. You try, but it doesn’t help. Instead, you feel even worse. Nothing helps. Emotions overwhelm, keep them out, away. Keep going, no matter what. Hold on tight, here comes another wave. My name is Nicole Corey, LPC-A, MA (supervised by Dr. Crystal Brashear, LPC-S) and I am a Christian Stress and Trauma Therapist. Those used to be some of my own thoughts and inward experiences when I had PTSD, panic attacks, life stress and grief symptoms. Being on the other side of that now, plus my education and training, make me uniquely equipped to serve you with taking the next steps on your journey to calm the wind and waves in your life. My focus in both counseling and training is stress and trauma, specifically non-military PTSD, anxiety, stress disorders including panic and dissociative disorders, traumatic grief/loss. Plus, life adjustments/transitions, and professional burnout, people-pleasing, perfectionism and procrastination. All interventions are in line with a biblical worldview. You can heal, reduce unwanted symptoms and increase mental health and wellbeing. Your life can be calm and peaceful even with a storm raging around you. I can help. 'For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. ' Romans 8:18 ESV Let’s meet together today!
