Introduction

If you're tired of therapy that dances around the real issue, or that doesn't get the cultural or identity context you're bringing into the room, you're in the right place. I'm Nicole Obih, LCSW (she/they), a Nigerian-American, Black therapist and founder of Celestial Shift Therapy. I work with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC adults who are ready to stop surviving anxiety, depression, and trauma, and start building a life that actually feels like theirs. My approach is direct and empowering, not passive. I won't just nod along; I'll help you name what's really going on, challenge the patterns keeping you stuck, and build tools you can use the moment session ends. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), layered with a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens. This isn't about quick fixes, it's about sustainable shifts that align with who you actually are. Clients come to me carrying the weight of anxiety that won't quiet down, depression that's dulled everything, trauma that keeps resurfacing, or the specific exhaustion of navigating identity, cultural expectations, and internalized shame, especially as a Black, brown, or LGBTQ+ person. As a Nigerian-American clinician, I understand that history and culture firsthand, and I bring that understanding into the room. You don't have to explain or justify who you are here; that part is settled before we even start. Celestial Shift Therapy is a fully virtual practice, so you can work with me from home, your office, or wherever you feel safest, no waiting room required. I'm licensed in both Texas and Florida, offering telehealth therapy for adults in either state. Specialties: LGBTQ+ affirming therapy BIPOC & racial identity Trauma & PTSD Anxiety & stress Depression & mood disorders Approach: CBT, ACT, strengths-based & trauma-informed care Format: 100% virtual/telehealth Licensure: LCSW, Licensed in Texas & Florida Based in: Houston, TX If you're ready for therapy that moves, not therapy that just talks about moving, let's get started.
