Introduction

Nikki has been a licensed psychotherapist for over 18 years. A native New Orleanian, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of New Orleans before moving on to earn a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, then a Doctorate of Psychology from Touro University California. She went on to serve at a non-profit, school-based agency as an outpatient mental health professional in the Arkansas Delta and in central Arkansas for seven years before returning to Louisiana to pursue her dream of owning a private counseling practice. She has earned the distinction of being a Louisiana State Board-Approved Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a National Certified Counselor, which she utilizes to facilitate an ethical learning environment for up-and-coming pre-licensed clinicians. This is Nikki's passion, and she enjoys witnessing the counseling profession grow through the eyes of her eager supervisees. Nikki utilizes a therapy approach that is solution-focused and person-centered under the systemic model that individualizes sessions to the client's unique needs and goals. Her specialty is working with couples from all walks of life to promote thriving and healthy relationships among romantic partners as well as family members. Nikki is also trained in Family and Divorce Mediation, aiding in her ability to be fair and impartial to all parties involved in conflict while finding the best possible solution to issues and problems. Her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has helped tremendously in assisting clients with severe, chronic traumas. She's also a Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider, which allows her to work with clients regarding nutritional and emotional wellness. Nikki's goal is to promote quality mental health services for the community that are easily accessible and to provide strong professional support to pre-licensed clinicians for their career development. She strives to bring peace to those who are struggling with emotional distress in their daily life. She is working diligently toward having a lasting impact within the counseling profession by fostering positive professional relationships and breaking the public stigma of seeking mental health therapy.
