In therapy, I strive to create an environment where every client feels seen, heard and understood. I believe the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is a powerful vessel for healing and change. I hope therapy can be a safe place where you are able to heal and grow! Therapy can provide: new mental health tools to improve quality of life, a place to explore hard issues, and collaboration for creating a healthier family or relationship dynamic. Therapy can also provide tools to grieve past experiences or simply a place to learn more about yourself. I have special experience in EMDR- trauma therapy. EMDR is an evidence based therapy to treat PTSD symptoms as well as depression and anxiety. EMDR is extremely effective in reducing symptoms but can take 8-10 sessions or more in order to complete. I also have special training in ERP (Exposure Response Prevention therapy). ERP is the gold standard to treat anxiety and OCD. ERP is extremely effective in treating OCD symptoms that inhibit quality of life. It’s important that clients who are diagnosed with OCD receive treatment from an ERP trained therapist as traditional talk therapy can make OCD symptoms worse. I have 32 hours of ERP specific training and am committed to continuing to learn the latest research and best practices for treating OCD.
