Sometimes we find ourselves stuck, just watching the life we want pass us by. If this is where you are, you're probably sitting somewhere between guilt and disappointment as you watch important moments slip through your fingers. Your attempts are real. You make the plan. You mean it. But then the week goes by and nothing changes, and you don't understand why. You call it laziness or lack of motivation, but here's the thing. Putting things off is usually a form of self-protection, and it's helpful to know what you're protecting yourself from. This is where our work begins. There's hope to make the changes you want. With genuine compassion, we get clearer on what's holding you back from what you value. Sometimes that means paying attention to the inner narratives driving your everyday decisions. Sometimes it's practicing tools that settle your nervous system. Other times it means actually stepping into the discomfort (of doing), with the right support and tools. My clinical style is holistic and integrative, drawing upon both eastern and western evidence-based practices. I utilize a strength-based approach, and weave together components of person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, coaching, and mindfulness. Some of the areas I focus in are anxiety and stress management, coping skills, nervous system regulation, value-based living, self-compassion and self-worth. You've spent enough time trying to think your way through. Let's use that energy to move you into the life you envision. John A. Shedd writes, "A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." You, too, know you're meant for so much more.
