Welcome! My name is Nnenna Ezem (pronounced similarly to “henna” but with an “n”)! I am a relational therapist whose passion for relational work comes from the idea that our experiences and perspectives (e.g., love, connection, hurt/heartbreak, healing) are shaped through relationships with others. My therapeutic approach is adaptive and eclectic, focusing on what feels most supportive for each person’s needs. As our past informs our present as well as the ways we relate to and with others, I tend to integrate aspects of psychodynamic and attachment frameworks. More foundationally, my work is rooted in acknowledgement of the myriad oppressive systems contributing to our experiences of isolation, self-blame, and shame. I believe our issues are often not inherently “ours” but a result of finding ways to survive systems, adapting and seeking safety and comfort in the ways we learn how. Through our journey together, I hope for the openness to constant reintroductions— to self, others, and the world— as you learn, unlearn, change, and grow.
