Hi, I'm Olivia, an LMHC in New York. I work with individuals and couples with histories of childhood trauma. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic psychotherapy, the goal of which is untangling the knots left by our pasts to better follow the threads of how we show up in the present. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to learn about and work with (instead of against) parts of you that filter your view of the world and yourself. I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help process traumatic memories that still feel raw or stuck. With couples, I rely on the Gottman Method to help you build the everyday skills that keep a relationship steady, build trust, and deepen emotional intimacy, even after real damage has been done. Wish as we may that there is someone with all the answers, therapy isn't about being told what to do. It's about having a steady, honest space to do the work of disrupting what keeps you from living the life you wish you had. Together, we'll work through the kind of hurt that shows up over and over again in our closest relationships; making trust, connection, and safety feel harder to find than they should. The question isn't "is it possible"; it's "what comes next?"
