Welcome to Therapy by Palmer. I'm so glad you're here! Taking the first step toward finding support can be overwhelming, but you're in the right place. Therapy has had a profound impact on my own life, and I am passionate about helping others toward healing and growth. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 10 years teaching high school math. During that time, I found myself most drawn to supporting people through difficult moments and life transitions. While earning my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I developed a strong interest in working with relationship challenges, anxiety, loneliness, and depression. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's unique needs. At times, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can provide practical tools and skills for managing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Other clients may benefit from the deeper, exploratory nature of Internal Family Systems (IFS), also known as parts work. For couples, I begin with the Gottman Method, a highly researched and effective approach to relationship therapy. This method provides a strong foundation for improving communication, deepening connection, and navigating challenges together. As our work progresses, I draw from additional therapeutic approaches when appropriate, tailoring the process to the unique strengths, goals, and needs of you and your partner. No matter which approach we use, I view therapy as a collaborative process. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore and better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will work together to identify your goals, monitor your progress, and ensure that therapy continues to meet your needs along the way.
