Specialized Support for Spousal Grief & Family Estrangement Losing a life partner is a unique grief. Many find that others, even well-meaning friends or counselors, cannot fully understand this profound loss. I offer therapy informed not only by professional training, but also by my own lived experience of spousal loss. Together, we create a space to process, remember, and begin to rebuild. Family relationships can be complex. I work with adolescents, parents, and families to address social, emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. Estrangement between adult children and their families is also becoming increasingly common. My goal is to help clients find practical solutions to situations or conflicts that disrupt everyday life. By learning new skills, developing fresh perspectives, and building effective coping strategies, individuals and families can begin to heal and move forward together. For over 30 years, I have worked with individuals and parents on issues that concern mental health, parenting skills and academic success with students of all ages. Working in education as a teacher, coach, counselor and school administrator has allowed me the fluidity and flexibility to work from the adolescent's perspective. I use an eclectic approach with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy on a variety of issues, including ADHD, organizational skills, parenting, anxiety, depression, grief, learning difficulties and stress. I believe my success, my client's success, is based on the relationship we develop. I strive to create a supportive relationship that encourages and fosters increased self-awareness, self-esteem, and learning. And, enjoy doing so with a touch of humor. I have dedicated my life's work to supporting people to “get the tools they need for the life they want”.
