Introduction

Healing is not a linear progression, but you will never have to walk it alone. I believe therapy thrives on curiosity, compassion, and genuine connection. I see you as a whole person, and I want to know who you are, not just what brought you in. Together, we will collaborate to shape goals that matter to you, and I will gently challenge you to work through what may be standing in your way. Clients often describe me as kind, encouraging, authentic, and easy to talk to. I bring my authentic self to every session, and I invite you to do the same. Dr. Benson-Perez has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including a therapeutic day school, an outpatient hospital, a university counseling center, and private practice. She has worked with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, developing a flexible, compassionate, and individualized approach to treatment. Her practice is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and is informed by humanistic-existential and relational frameworks. At the heart of her approach is a commitment to empathy and to validating each client's lived experiences. She meets clients where they are, tailoring treatment to match their specific needs while helping them build practical skills and work toward long-term personal growth. Dr. Benson-Perez has training in Imago Relationship Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, helping partners communicate in ways that foster healthy conflict resolution, active listening, and deeper emotional intimacy. Recognizing that progress thrives on a holistic support system, she values collaborative care and regularly partners with psychiatrists, physicians, educators, and other mental health professionals to support clients. Drawing on her experience in a therapeutic day school, she is well-versed in IEPs and 504 Plans, and is passionate about supporting parents in advocating for their children while strengthening collaboration between home and school.
