Patricia Rembert-Anderson, LPC, Counseling, P.L.L.C. Understanding Our Foundational Framework In Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), a theoretical framework is a structured approach that guides the integration of research evidence, clinical expertise, and client values into healthcare decision-making. It provides a systematic way to understand, implement, and evaluate practices in clinical settings. This methodology serves as the foundation for our work, helping you effectively understand how your Thoughts, Feelings, Emotions, and Lived Experiences are interconnected, which impacts overall well-being. A Commitment to Compassion and Inclusivity My approach to counseling is deeply rooted in Empathy, Compassion, and Non-Judgment. As a clinician who is Culturally Competent/Aware/Sensitive to diverse cultures, different from my own, I am dedicated to serving all individuals regardless of: 1. Race 2. Color 3. National Origin 4. Familial Status 5. Disability (ADA of 1990, ADAAA of 2008) 6. Sex (PDA 1978, PWFA 2023, The PUMP ACT 2023), Gender Identity/Sexual Orientation 7. Age (ADEA of 1967) 8. Genetics Status (GINA 2008) 9. Citizenship/Immigration Status (Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986) 10. Religion (Supreme Court Ruling in Groff v. DeJoy on 06/29/2023) I believe that for true healing to occur, a person needs an environment that provides them with Genuineness (openness and self-disclosure), Acceptance (being seen with unconditional positive regard), and Empathy (being listened to and understood). This Compassionate and Polyvagal-Informed approach highlights warmth, connection, and co-regulation, creating a safe, supportive space where you can comfortably explore your innermost/introspective psyche while developing the skills and tools needed to effect positive, behavioral changes that will start the healing process towards resiliency. I provide this for my clients to explore ways to help guide them in resolving their issues with complete autonomy in how they choose to approach/address their willingness/readiness for changing their negative behaviors that no longer serve their needs. Therapeutic Orientation and Specialties My practice is grounded in a Humanistic: Person-Centered and Polyvagal: Autonomic Nervous System-Informed orientation, which emphasizes that I look at you as an individual through a Trauma-Informed and Human-Centric lens while utilizing body-based stabilization. This Humanistic: Experiential and Polyvagal Theory (PVT): Somatic Nervous System (SNS) Somatic-Based perspective translates humanism to the experiential level and polyvagal concepts into the physical space, prioritizing safety before processing deeper emotions. Within this framework, I offer a variety of Evidence-Based counseling modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) using the TEAM-CBT method, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to name a few. Additionally, I provide specialized support for adolescents, as well as LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and families. Reach out today to schedule your initial appointment to start your healing journey.
