Introduction

I've been working as a therapist since 2012. Time sure does fly. I started my career with the Department of Veteran Affairs and continued to work with veterans and their families for a significant portion of my career. In doing so, I've been trained in supporting clients with post-traumatic stress, as well as anxiety, work stress, depression, and family issues. Additionally, I have about 9 years of couples therapy under my belt. I primarily use EFT for couples, which focuses on helping the couple identify and change their conflict cycle, as well as strengthening the relationship bond. Please visit my website for more information: www.patrickduceycounselingservices.com My approach to counseling is to utilize my professional background and training to support you. I have to be flexible. Our work is also collaborative. You're the expert on your experiences. I come from a trauma informed care perspective, which notes that much of our distress comes from when our threat response is activated. These days, threats can be concerns about social status, work issues, financial concerns, relationships issues, and other stressors.
