I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC) in Arizona, and I have worked in the addiction and mental health field since 1997. My practice, Phoenix Foundations Recovery, was created to provide a compassionate, practical, and nonjudgmental place for individuals, couples, and families to begin or continue the work of healing. I specialize in substance use and behavioral addictions, including gambling, gaming, spending, work, sex, and pornography addiction, as well as trauma, complex and developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, relationship concerns, and family dynamics. I understand that many people come to therapy feeling ashamed, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure whether real change is possible. My approach is to see symptoms and addictive behaviors as coping strategies that developed for understandable reasons, not as character flaws or personal failures. My therapy style is direct, easygoing, collaborative, and eclectic. I believe clients deserve honesty, compassion, and practical tools, along with a safe space to explore the deeper roots of their struggles. I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT skills, REBT, Existential Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Family Therapy, Gottman-informed methods, family systems work, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, somatic awareness, and grounding techniques. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, CCTP and CCTP-II, and tailor treatment to each client’s needs, goals, values, and pace.
