Welcome! My practice philosophy is that we all have inherent worth and value, and possess the ability to heal. Trauma therapy allows us to identify the negative beliefs that were created from traumatic experiences, and transform them so that our inner and outer experiences change in the ways that we desire. It all starts within. The focus of trauma therapy is to actually heal, not just cope and stabilize (although those are very important, too!) My goal as a therapist is for clients to leave therapy with skills that also allow them to continue their healing independently. Clients learn somatic skills to keep their nervous systems regulated, and ultimately experience more peace within. I also use CBT, EMDR, Psychoeducation, and Internal Family Systems, as therapy modalities. These work well together for deep healing, and over time, allow us to live more peacefully in the present moment, as opposed to mostly living in the past, or future. Trauma therapy is more intense than typical psychotherapy, and does take a commitment of time and effort, in addition to work outside of the weekly appointment. This is also therapy that I have done myself, as I think it is difficult to take clients where one hasn't also gone. I currently have two regular weekly appointments available. You may contact me for a free consultation at paulajmoore@protonmail.com to see if we are a good fit to work together.
