I believe strongly in the dignity and worth of all people and that living an authentic life is essential to personal happiness and harmony. I am dedicated to social justice generally and within social work practice. My goal is to provide psychotherapy that is client-tailored, culturally sensitive and humble, and non-judgmental. I believe the client is the expert of their own experience and benefits from a collaborative therapeutic relationship with a provider trained to guide insights and promote growth and skill building. The collaborative nature of psychotherapy requires openness and feedback, and I will always be open to feedback from my clients to guide our work together. We all navigate challenges in our lives in the contexts in which we live. I believe in a holistic view of health, appreciating the relationships between our physical and mental experiences, our personal and environmental experiences, and how our identity formation and histories impact our perspectives. I have been engaged in work focused on mental and physical health concerns that intersect with gender and sexuality identities and experiences since 2008 through both my studies (in psychology, gender studies, human sexuality, social work, and public health) and my employment (in gender affirming care since 2019 and previously in HIV care support). My areas of specialty include: Relationships, identity challenges, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, gender and sexuality, and supporting and navigating challenges with LGBTQIA+ loved ones.
