Introduction

Hey, we can figure this out! I most often work with ages 12-25, teens/kids and their families, guardians/foster/adoption. Many of my clients are Black, Mexican/Central American, and Caribbean, and many are gay and/or trans. We work on issues like trauma, difficult childhoods, behavior/parenting, relationships of all kinds, suicide, self-harm, anxiety, depression, and identity. You'll learn to more effectively identify and communicate about emotions, and to try new patterns in how you think, act, feel, and relate to others. In sessions, we will blend supportive conversation with creative, practical strategies to make the changes you're looking for. My approach draws from years of experience, research evidence, and helpful feedback from my clients. Teens and 20s - Whether because of abuse, neglect, a chaotic or unsupportive household, trouble at school, or other ways you feel you didn't get to grow up at your own pace, we get to work together to figure out what's next. Parents and new guardianship situations - I help teens, kids, and parents understand each other better, prevent mental health conditions from developing or worsening, and have more fun at home. Reach out with questions and to set up a short, free intro phone call. I worked in a diverse community mental health clinic near Humboldt Park for 12 years, including running the teen intensive outpatient program, and would love to meet you and see if I can help.
