Introduction

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am earning my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. I’ll be completing my internship at Life Point Counseling starting in August 2026, and will graduate from ASU in May 2027. I have worked and volunteered in a variety of helping roles since graduating from Iowa State University in 2022, including camp counseling for middle and high schoolers in the Des Moines area, the therapeutic classroom program at Pella Public Schools, leading youth groups for middle and high schoolers, and in office administration for Life Point. I have a passion for connecting with people exactly where they are, and believe that all the parts of your identity and story matter. We are continually becoming ourselves as we move through life, and we are never meant to go through anything alone. Healing happens in connection! Whatever you bring into the counseling room, I will meet you person to person, free from judgement, and with care and empathy. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in cultural humility. Together we’ll identify and build your strengths and resources, find clarity and insight, gently tend to what needs healing, and work toward your goals.
