Raquel’s clinician style blends psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, social-justice informed therapy, humanistic/person-centered therapy and holistic mind-body approaches. She is particularly interested in how early experiences shape present day emotions and relationships, as well as empowering one to rise above their challenges with the aid of coping tools. Her academic research focuses on the mind-body connection and how therapy can help prevent stress-related health concerns. Raquel has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her professional background includes occupational therapy support, sexual assault and domestic violence outreach, mental health aid within pretrial services, and extensive work in higher education. She has provided one-on-one student support focused on strength-based development, academic, career, transitional guidance, and personal wellness. Her leadership and mentor roles have strengthened her ability to support individuals navigating complex emotional or systemic challenges. Raquel’s identities have shaped her compassion, advocacy, and commitment to breaking mental health stigma. Her work is driven by a desire to expand diversity, equity, and inclusion within therapeutic spaces while normalizing vulnerability and emotional wellness. Raquel strives to meet each person where they are and help deepen their understanding of their emotions, identity patterns and triggers, and build practical tools for healing and growth. She is committed to empowering clients on their journey in life. Raquel is currently a mental health counseling intern at Northeast Psychological Wellness while completing her master’s degree at Pace University’s CACREP-accredited Mental Health Counseling Program.
