Introduction

Ravin is a compassionate, grounded, and culturally attuned therapist who supports therapy participants aged 18 and up as they move through their healing journeys. Her work centers those from the African diaspora and BIPOC communities whose lived experiences have been shaped by systemic oppression, historical harms, and cycles of intergenerational trauma. While her practice welcomes all, Ravin is particularly committed to supporting women of color and to cultivating spaces that honor ancestral wisdom, resilience, and collective liberation. With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Holy Names University, Ravin brings a relational approach to her therapeutic work. Her early advocacy with BRAVE, formerly Bay Area Women Against Rape (BAWAR), continues to inform her capacity to witness, hold, and support survivors of sexual violence with dignity and care. Clinical Framework & Integrative Healing Approach Ravin’s practice is rooted in a decolonizing framework that honors the mind–body–spirit connection and views healing as a reclaiming of personal agency, ancestral strength, and embodied wisdom. She blends: EMDR Therapy through a liberatory lens Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy is grounded in Polyvagal and somatic principles Nature-based and earth-centered practices Depth-oriented and intergenerational perspectives Energy-informed and ritual-based components inspired by African diasporic traditions This integrative fusion allows therapy participants to work with trauma not only cognitively but also somatically, relationally, spiritually, and ecologically, reflecting the holistic ways many cultures have always understood healing. Specialized Healing Modalities EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Ravin offers EMDR as a powerful, evidence-based approach for processing trauma, releasing internalized narratives, and reorganizing the nervous system’s response to past experiences. Through a decolonizing lens, EMDR becomes a pathway for healing personal and ancestral wounds woven through histories of displacement, racial trauma, and systemic injustice. Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy Working alongside horses offers therapy participants opportunities to reconnect with their emotional landscape, restore trust in their bodies, and build relationships grounded in mutual respect and attunement. Horses offer honest, nonjudgmental feedback that supports deeper self-awareness, emotional regulation, and embodied healing. This approach is especially transformative for those seeking nature-based, ancestral, or somatic pathways of recovery. A Healing Space Rooted in Safety, Culture, and Empowerment Ravin recognizes the distinct challenges faced by individuals from the African diaspora, including cultural silence around trauma, survival-based resilience that often masks pain, and a legacy of mistrust in medical and mental health systems. She creates a therapeutic environment that centers safety, empowerment, cultural reverence, and liberation. Her work honors the stories carried in the body, the wisdom of lineage, and the truth that healing is both a personal and collective act. If you feel called to begin or deepen your healing journey, you are invited to reach out and explore how EMDR, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, or Ravin’s integrative, decolonizing framework can support your transformation.
