Introduction

Raya is licensed in both Illinois and Michigan and brings experience supporting clients ages 14-50 navigating eating disorders, body image concerns, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use, and emotional regulation difficulties. She also supports clients experiencing relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, perfectionism, low self-worth, and patterns that may leave them feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves. Raya provides weight-inclusive, trauma-informed care through a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) lens, honoring that health, healing, and recovery look different for every person. Her approach focuses on helping clients build a more compassionate relationship with their bodies, food, and themselves without centering weight, dieting, or shame. Raya understands that many of the coping strategies and patterns we develop often begin as ways to survive difficult experiences. Her work focuses on helping clients explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, while developing new tools that allow them to move toward a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling. Clients value Raya’s compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach. She creates a space where clients can show up as they are, process difficult experiences, and explore the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be keeping them from the life they want to build. Raya integrates evidence-based and creative approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, somatic interventions, expressive arts, and trauma-informed approaches. Her work is rooted in helping clients strengthen emotional awareness, build resilience, reconnect with themselves, and create meaningful, lasting change. Outside of the therapy room, you can find Raya hiking, spending time outdoors, creating art, traveling, and enjoying meaningful moments with friends and family.
