Introduction

Welcome! I am a licensed counseling psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, stress management, and trauma for adults. I've completed additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, the Mind-Body Connection, and treatments for trauma, including EMDR. My biggest hope for you is to create a meaningful and fulfilling life while learning how to "ride the waves" of life's challenges. I firmly believe in the intersection among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and we'll explore all of those factors in therapy. I utilize research-backed strategies within the session to improve your well-being and offer suggestions for what to do outside of therapy to help you reach their goals. We’ll work together to figure out where you need support and what direction you want to take your life. That might involve exploring past experiences to better understand how they’ve shaped where you are now. I want to know how you're thinking about things and if there is a way to shift your perspective or let those thoughts go. I want to help you feel your feelings in your body while learning how to regulate them to give yourself a sense of internal safety. At the same time, I want to be intentional about helping you identify practical steps you can take now to move toward the future you want. My philosophy is that you don't end therapy when you are "healed" because you will learn and grow throughout life. Rather, you are ready to end therapy when you feel better able to handle tough moments and can use what you’ve learned to face life’s ups and downs with more confidence. Charlie, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, will join us for in-person counseling sessions. She has been coming to therapy with me since 2021. She is well-trained and eager for affection. Please take this into consideration when deciding if I am the right fit for you, especially if you are allergic or unable to be around dogs. I am a part of the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission meaning I can provide telehealth psychotherapy to those living in 43 of the PsyPact effective states. http://www.verifypsypact.org/
