Introduction

Hi, I am Rebecca (she/her)! Seeking therapy, whether for the first time or to revisit your therapy journey, can feel daunting and vulnerable. I’m here to create more comfort for you in that process, building our therapeutic relationship by connecting on what feels important to you and working at your own pace. My role is to create a validating space for your voice to be heard while guiding you to foster healthy connections and healing experiences outside the therapy room. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, helping them navigate anxiety, relationships, life transitions, trauma, neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism, LGBTQIA+ and gender identity-related challenges. My perspective is centered on a trauma-informed, person-centered lens, believing you are the expert on your own experience and always remaining curious about what is important to you. I work with the psychodynamic approach, which explores how past experiences might have shaped how we currently show up in relationships and view ourselves. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my work, pairing our processing work with tools and strategies that can help you cope and move forward. I also draw on a systems-oriented lens, meaning I factor in your surrounding community and intersectional identity as vital parts of your experience. As someone from an immigrant family myself, who has also had the opportunity to work with multilingual and multicultural populations, I am passionate about cultural humility and responsiveness, learning how your cultural background and identity might contribute to your own lived experience. I have also had the opportunity to gain knowledge on neurodivergent experiences through my work in schools, along with the support this population might require across a range of various needs and settings. I approach each session with compassion, curiosity, and a non-judgemental approach, recognizing the innate humanity in all of us, including both ends of our therapeutic relationship. I believe that even just one person taking the time to help us feel seen can go such a long way in how we view ourselves and how we show up in our interactions with others. It is an honor to have your story shared with me and to witness your growth as I support you in your healing. I look forward to connecting and working with you.
