Introduction

Meet Rhonda Rhonda earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. Before entering the counseling profession, she spent many years working in diverse K–12 educational settings as a teacher and principal. Her extensive experience in education, combined with her therapeutic counseling training, has provided her with meaningful opportunities to support the social, emotional, and academic well-being of children, adolescents, adults, and families. Rhonda believes that no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone. She encourages her clients to recognize that difficult emotions and feelings are temporary and that, with support and self-awareness, they can develop healthier and more positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. With compassion and encouragement, Rhonda helps clients acknowledge and express their individual experiences, develop greater self-understanding and self-empathy, and move forward toward a healthier and more fulfilling life. She strives to create a culturally sensitive, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment where clients feel safe to be heard, understood, and respected. Rhonda’s areas of specialty include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and self-esteem. She utilizes an integrative approach, drawing from various counseling theories, strategies, and techniques to develop treatment that is responsive to each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals.
