Introduction

I’m Dr. Rian Kabir, a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and founder of Entheo Clinic. I created this practice around a simple belief: mental health care should be thoughtful, unhurried, and focused on meaningful, lasting change, not simply adding more prescriptions or labels. My approach brings together psychiatric medication management, depth-oriented psychotherapy, metabolic and lifestyle medicine, and contemplative practice. I work with people experiencing depression, anxiety, burnout, medication concerns, metabolic health challenges, cancer-related distress, and difficult life transitions. I also offer structured deprescribing, psycho-oncology, and psychedelic preparation and integration support. My psychotherapy work draws from Internal Family Systems, Jungian, psychodynamic approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care. When medication is appropriate, we use it carefully and collaboratively, considering the whole picture — including sleep, nutrition, physical health, relationships, personal history, and sense of meaning. I completed medical school at the Medical College of Virginia (VCU) and psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville, with additional training in obesity medicine. I have also spent more than a decade studying contemplative traditions and psychedelic integration, alongside formal training in mindfulness-based stress reduction. My goal is to create a space where you feel deeply heard and where biological, psychological, and existential concerns can be explored together. Treatment is collaborative and individualized, helping you better understand what is happening, make informed choices, and move toward a more balanced and meaningful life.
