Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Rich McGuffin, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Nevada. I have been practicing for 18 years and work with individuals and couples from adolescence through adulthood. I was drawn to the field of mental health out of a genuine desire to help people navigate life’s challenges, heal from difficult experiences, and find greater peace and balance in their lives. I bring a broad range of life experience into the counseling room, and I truly value the work I do with my clients. As a former First Responder, I have a deep understanding of the unique stressors and challenges faced by those in public safety and helping professions. I strive to provide a supportive, confidential space where clients feel understood, respected, and safe. Many of the clients I work with are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or relationship difficulties. I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I work collaboratively with each client to tailor treatment to their individual needs, goals, and personality.
