Introduction

Hello! I am currently accepting new clients at A Place of Growth. My name is Riley Hammond, and I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who has experience providing teen & adult therapy. I believe the first step in the therapeutic relationship should involve finding a therapist who builds a safe, trusting environment where the client feels comfortable engaging in the therapeutic process. I am deeply passionate about disability advocacy, suicide prevention and education, self-harm awareness/reduction, and supporting individuals who have experienced trauma. I use psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, & humanistic approaches to therapy in my work. I believe in creating a safe and accepting space for individuals to speak openly, and I think the connection between client and therapist is crucial for making progress toward their goals. I have a strong background in working with diverse populations. My biggest goal is to help you identify and overcome obstacles so that you can live a happier, more balanced life. The therapeutic process takes time; healing is not linear. I cannot wait to embark on this journey together with you!
