Clinically, I operate from an interpersonal depth-oriented approach. I work collaboratively with my clients to explore and understand past and present thoughts, feelings and impulses. I focus not only on the intricate relationships we hold with others throughout our lives, but also on intricate relationship we have within ourselves. These relationships we have outside ourselves highly influence our relationship within ourselves. During the course of our lives, we learn who we are in relation to the people in our lives, specifically the ones that care for us growing up. Issues arise when we unconsciously reenact these relationships with everyone that we meet. By doing so, we can become confined to our internal world, which can create struggles that manifest themselves in different forms (anxiety, depression, addiction, unresolved trauma, etc.). Within the therapeutic relationship, I work with internal conflicts of unconscious desires and defenses that keep us stuck in a somewhat familiar place. By doing so, we find understanding and growth.
