Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you're unsure where to begin or what to expect. I believe therapy should feel approachable, supportive, and judgment-free—a place where you can speak openly, better understand yourself, and work toward meaningful change at your own pace. I'm Robert Hennessy, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), and I work with individuals ages 16 and older, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, overthinking, relationship difficulties, family conflict, and life transitions. I'm especially passionate about supporting individuals who are new to therapy and helping them feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. My approach is collaborative, direct, and practical. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Choice Theory, and strengths-based techniques to help you recognize patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, improve communication, and build stronger relationships. Together, we'll explore what's holding you back, identify your strengths, and develop realistic tools you can use beyond our sessions. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes the first step is simply having someone in your corner. I offer virtual therapy throughout New Jersey and practice under the clinical supervision of Ashlyn Rost, LPC, ACS.
