I rely on evidenced based interventions, often using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Interpersonal Psychotherapy to address depression, anxiety, sleep problems, low self-esteem, social isolation, PTSD, obsessive compulsive disorder, and to manage Bipolar Disorder. I also work with students who are struggling emotionally with the goal of succeeding with school. I also work with older adults who are seeking to address distress, grief, transitions, relationship problems, and chronic health challenges. I provide Psychological Evaluations, ADHD evaluations, court assessments and required Fitness for Practice Evaluations. I provide Psychotherapy with a focus on understanding human behavior and helping people with their emotional difficulties and personal problems. Psychotherapy typically starts with an assessment of problematic symptoms and maladaptive behaviors that often intrude into a person's social life, school or work activities, and physical health. I am Board Certified in Clinical Psychology. Specific strategies are employed to alleviate problems causing distress such as depression, anxiety or LGTBQ challenges and relationship problems. Self-knowledge is an important key to changing attitudes and behavior. Psychotherapy may involve the development of insight as to how our physical health may be compromised in many ways by emotional and relationship issues.
