In my work I focus on both the big picture and the finer details when it comes to understanding what brings someone into the counseling space, and in terms of addressing concerns. I look at the big things like identity, personhood, life purpose, relationships, and choices, while also exploring specifics like childhood experiences, mental health symptoms, core beliefs, life stressors, and personal strengths. Sessions with me typically blend a conversational style with some structure, and outside of session time I encourage completion of relevant homework exercises and practicing of strategies for coping that have been discussed. Overall I strive to create an atmosphere that encourages compassion, balance, and growth.
