My name is Ronneka McMath, and I am a dedicated mental health counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and move toward healing and personal growth. I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stillman College and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of West Alabama. I am currently an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) practicing under the clinical supervision of Dr. Takesha Shannon, LPC-S. My journey into counseling began through years of working in the mental health field and seeing firsthand the importance of having compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental care. Over the past eight years, I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and major life transitions. These experiences strengthened my passion for helping people feel heard, understood, and empowered. My counseling approach is centered around building a safe and supportive environment where clients can openly express themselves without fear of judgment. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and personalized to each individual’s needs and goals. I work to help clients develop healthy coping skills, improve communication, strengthen self-awareness, and create meaningful changes in their lives.
