I’m Ross Thomas, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Lincoln, Illinois. I found my way into this work because I’ve seen firsthand how much it matters to have someone steady in your corner during hard seasons — someone who can hold space for what you’re carrying without judgment, and help you find your footing again. My practice focuses on trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress. I draw on approaches like EMDR, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and Coherence Therapy, tailoring each to fit the person in front of me rather than a one-size-fits-all method. Some clients come to me after a specific difficult event; others are simply carrying more than they can manage alone. Both are welcome here. What I care most about is helping people move from surviving to actually feeling like themselves again — more grounded, more present, and better equipped to handle whatever comes next. Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong” with you; it’s about helping you reconnect with your own resilience. If any of this resonates, I’d be glad to talk with you about whether we might be a good fit.
