Introduction

Maybe you've spent so much of your life becoming who everyone else needed you to be that you've forgotten what it feels like to simply be yourself. You may look like you're holding it all together — yet something inside still feels disconnected, heavy, or missing. Together, we create a space to slow down, breathe, and gently learn to listen to the silent weight your body has been carrying. We look past the roles you've had to play so you can step away from just getting through the day — and remember what it feels like to be you again. Before I became a therapist, I was a software engineer. I know what it's like to live entirely in your head — trying to think your way through anxiety, grief, or a life that looks fine on the outside but feels hollow on the inside. That experience shapes how I work. I understand the specific exhaustion of someone who has done everything right and still can't quite land. My approach integrates somatic psychotherapy with depth psychology — which means we go beneath the story you've been telling yourself, into what your body has actually been holding. The tightness. The exhaustion. The places that don't respond to logic or willpower. This isn't just talk therapy. We slow down, listen to what's been stored beneath the surface, and gently help it move — so you can stop managing and start actually feeling like yourself again. Who I work with: I work with adults across California navigating anxiety, burnout, identity, family patterns, life transitions, and the specific weight of cultural expectations. I bring a deep, lived understanding of the South Asian diaspora — the pressure to maintain a perfect exterior while carrying an invisible interior load, the push and pull between worlds, the longing for something that doesn't have a name yet. I also offer psychospiritual integration for seekers worldwide — for those navigating a spiritual awakening, a dark night of the soul, or a longing that therapy alone hasn't quite reached. Getting started: With 20 years of experience, I offer a space that is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and compassionate. Coming back to yourself isn't always easy or fast — but it's possible. I invite you to visit my website to watch my introductory video — "An Invitation to Healing" — to see whether my approach resonates with you before reaching out. The best way to reach me is directly through my website — I read and respond to every message there personally. You can find the contact form at ruchikamehta.com.
